Amanda's Legacy.

Background & History of The Foundation.

In a small, close-knit community called Karen-Nairobi, there was a radiant young girl named Amanda, whose name meant “Gift from God.” At just sixteen years old, Amanda devoted herself wholeheartedly to serving her church community’s sick and aged members. With a heart full of compassion and a spirit wise beyond her years, she spent countless hours visiting those in need. Accompanying the priests, she would bring prayers and the Holy Eucharist to the elderly and infirm, spreading warmth and hope wherever she went.

Amanda’s dedication was unwavering. She will motivate her family to use the family’s little resources to support the condition of the sick and aged. Her gentle presence was a beacon of light to those who faced the darkness of illness and the solitude of old age. She embraced each person with love, making them feel cherished and connected to their faith community.

Little did Amanda know that her selfless acts of kindness were preparing her for a reality she would soon face herself. One day, Amanda fell gravely ill. The diagnosis was leukaemia, and within a week, her vibrant life was nearing its end.

But even in her final days, Amanda’s story was one of profound beauty and grace. The very community she had tirelessly served rallied around her.

She was never alone; the love and support she had given so freely were returned to her in abundance. Each day, she received the Holy Eucharist, a source of immense comfort and strength.

Amanda’s passing was a testament to the power of faith and community. She died peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her, embraced by the very faith that she had shared with so many. Her short life has touched countless hearts, and her legacy of love and service continues to inspire.

In honour of Amanda’s remarkable spirit, The Bahati’s Foundation was established. Named “Gift from God,” the foundation is dedicated to continuing her mission of compassion and care. Through the foundation, we strive to ensure that no sick or aged person in our community feels isolated or forgotten. We provide resources, companionship, and spiritual support, embodying the love and dedication that Amanda so beautifully exemplified.

Amanda’s story is a poignant reminder of the impact one person can have on the lives of many. Her memory lives on through The Bahati’s Foundation, as we carry forward her legacy of hope, love, and unwavering faith.
