Mathenge Mwangi Managing Director
Mathenge Mwangi is a seasoned international professional with extensive expertise in public policy, finance, economics, and strategic management. He is committed to ensuring that ABK Trust is firmly grounded and strategically positioned to sustainably deliver Amanda’s vision for the long term.
Eric Maina KariukiDirector
Eric Maina Kariuki is a lawyer at Kimondo, Gachoka & Company Advocates, where he has worked for the past year. His areas of practice include litigation, commercial law, and conveyancing.
He holds a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and an LL.B (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) from Strathmore University. As a Director of the Amanda Bahati Kariuki Trust, he contributes legal insight and supports the Trust’s governance and public work.
Duncan KabuiDirector
Duncan is a strategy business advisor and consultant in financial services sector.
He is a director of ABK Trust and a member of the Strategy, Finance & Investments Committee. His focus is to assist the Trust achieve sustainable better than market returns for deployment into the Trust’s objects.

Atanas Kariuki Maina is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a fellow of the Institute of Certified Secretaries.
As a trustee, his motivation is Amanda’s legacy. To do what Amanda would have done.
Mary Luiza Kariuki is a professional interior designer with experience in creative planning and project coordination, guided by a strong sense of purpose and service. She brings a thoughtful, people-centred approach to design, with an appreciation for spaces that nurture learning, reflection, and community well-being.
As a trustee, she contributes strategic insight, ethical leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing the trust’s social, spiritual, and educational objectives.
Catherine Igathe is the Managing Director and Founder of Fit2Lead Global Ltd, a leadership and corporate strategy consulting firm. With over 24 years of experience, including a decade at C-suite level, she has served as CEO of Jubilee General Insurance Limited and Managing Director of AIG Kenya Insurance Co. Ltd. A John Maxwell Certified Executive Director, GENOS Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, and Adjunct Faculty at Strathmore Business School, Catherine is passionate about leadership development and mentoring the next generation of leaders. She also serves on several corporate boards and has coached and trained executives and entrepreneurs across Africa.
Rev. Fr. Ernest Ekene Ahanotu, a Roman Catholic priest of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers (Spiritans), was born in 1984 in Nigeria to the late Ernest Oguwnka Ahanotu and Mrs. Maureen Ahanotu. He completed his primary, secondary, and university education in Nigeria and was ordained in 2018 within the Spiritans. For his missionary assignment, he was posted to Kenya Province and South Sudan; he arrived in January 2019 and was stationed at St John the Evangelist Parish, Karen, where he served as chaplain to Cooperative University, Multimedia University, JKUT Karen Campus, and Karen C Girls Secondary, as well as to the St John Youth Group. He also acted as spiritual director to many youths in the parish, including the late Amanda Bahati Kariuki (ABK), who was instrumental in visiting the elderly and sick in the community. Presently, he serves as the Chaplain of St Mary’s School, Nairobi, and is a member of the ABK Trust.

Kanyi Gachoka is the Managing Partner at Kimondo Gachoka & Company Advocates, where he has led the Conveyancing and Commercial Law practice since 1994, specializing in banking, property, and corporate law. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Notary Public, and Certified Public Secretary, he holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. With over three decades of legal experience, he has served in key leadership roles including Chairman of the Retirement Benefits Authority and has held governance positions across professional and civic institutions, reflecting his longstanding contribution to Kenya’s legal and regulatory landscape.
